ROLLS-ROYCE CELEBRATES RECORD FESTIVAL OF SPEED

Wraith. The newest model in the leading super-luxury marque’s stable dominated the famous Goodwood Hillclimb during the Supercar Run. The most powerful and dynamic Rolls-Royce in history, Wraith completed the 1.16-mile course in under 60 seconds and reached 134 mph as the car accelerated past Goodwood House. Wraith was driven by Festival favourite, Justin Law.

Soapbox Challenge. The Rolls-Royce four-wheeled gravity racer, until recently on display at the Home of Rolls-Royce, successfully completed the course reaching a top speed of 72 mph. The racer was driven by Jamie Stephenson, a Rolls-Royce Analysis Engineer based at the manufacturing plant in Goodwood.

Centenary Alpine Trial ‘Works Team’. Having successfully completed the 1800-mile Centenary Alpine Trial two weeks ago, Rolls-Royce was delighted to present the ‘Works Team’ that joined 47 Silver Ghosts – many over 100 years old – on this historic and challenging event. The original 1913 Radley Car and the new 2013 Alpine Trial Centenary Ghost travelled up the Hillclimb side by side each day to spontaneous applause from spectators stood along the length of the course.

FAB1.Headed by Chris Evans, the FAB1 Million project is set to raise £1 million in 2013 for Breast Cancer Care. The pink Bespoke Ghost Extended Wheelbase provided by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars for the project was warmly welcomed by the crowds as it took to the Goodwood Hillclimb. Breast Cancer Care reported record donations for the project throughout the weekend.

Moving Motor Show. Following a record number of invited guests driving Rolls-Royce Phantoms and Ghosts during the Moving Motor Show, the exhibition stand welcomed thousands of visitors to view the new Rolls-Royce Wraith on static display throughout the weekend.

Course Car. The Course Director’s car this year was a Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupé, resplendent with race lights and Goodwood decals. The car was seen at speed between each Hillclimb Run throughout the weekend.

The Fleet. The largest fleet of Rolls-Royce motor cars ever seen in the UK wafted around the Goodwood area during the Festival of Speed, with invited guests being conveyed in luxury from the Home of Rolls-Royce on the south-eastern corner of the Goodwood Estate.
